YOUR BUSINESS AT THEIR FINGERTIPS
Do you have a difficult time sorting through your coupons?
That’s the impetus behind FINGERTIPS Digital Coupons, where with the touch
of a few buttons on their keyboard, consumers can access coupons from a
computer disk. The free service, which started in May, is in use at about
30 local stores. Users just insert the IBM (DOS-Windows)- compatible
disk into their computer, scroll through the menu of indexed businesses,
and print out the desired coupon.
“The greatest thing about FINGERTIPS is the fact that
these coupons won’t go away,” says Jeffrey Weinberg, the man behind FINGERTIPS
and a McKeesport native. “You can print them as often as you want,
when you want, and you can share them with your family and friends.”
Companies that normally wouldn’t advertise on paper
coupons are now using digital ones, offering, say, $25 off a refrigerator
or $10 off an oil change. And every coupon includes such pertinent
information as location, phone number and special services offered by each
business. The first Pittsburgh area participating businesses include
The Audio Gallery in Squirrel Hill, Eyetique in Squirrel Hill, A-Direct
Maytag in Monroeville and Berk’s Fine Men’s Clothing in North Huntingdon.
